4th Annual Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival Race Is A Success

The 2009 Charlotte Dragon Boat/Asian Festival on May 16 featured 31 teams from throughout the Carolinas. Held in conjunction with the
...31 teams competed in the 4th Annual Race including a new breast cancer survivor team from Charlotte...
10th Annual Asian Festival, the race featured some dramatic weather as well as exciting, competitive races. In the end, teams comprised of members of the Charlotte Dragon Boat Association took the first two spots. But the real victors were everyone who participated and watched this ancient sporting event come to life on the waters of Lake Norman. Cancer Survivor Team at the Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival Race

The 2009 Charlotte Dragon Boat/Asian Festival on May 16 featured a new entry in the Dragon Boat event, with a local cancer survivor team joining the race. While this sport is popular among breast cancer survivors (BCS) worldwide, this marks the first time that Charlotte is fielding its own teams.
